Kimberly Marshall

Kimberly invests in innovative technologies and business models in higher education, the education-to-employment gap, and new technologies with potentially disruptive higher-ed applications. Through the Bill & Melinda Gates foundation, she is working to solve the  11 million job gap expected by 2025.

Kimberly's other investing and advising interests include high growth companies that deliver world-changing products and services, with particular interest and experience in transportation & logistics, future of work and consumer FinTech. Kimberly is also a part of First Round Capital's inaugural Angel Track class.

Previously @ Uber, Kimberly spearheaded strategic growth initiatives across product, operations and policy that supported the company's expansion from 19 markets to over 400 markets in 70 countries. Specifically, she designed Uber’s first enterprise product concept, evaluated capabilities impacting consumer-driven product development, led the Uber Miami market pre-launch, and developed Uber's national stakeholder strategy, which involved negotiating partnerships and cultivating relationships with over 130 external stakeholders. 

Her venture experience includes work at two venture capital funds as well as independent advisory work for 7 ventures in three industries - food & wine, e-commerce and transportation. Additionally, she executed private equity transactions across multiple industries and countries for a $4bn fund at Macquarie Capital and executed over $3b senior-managed municipal utilities financings at Morgan Stanley.

When not talking to new companies, Kimberly is snowboarding, giving back or exploring the world through food & wine - 41 countries & counting!
